Inclusion Profiles

The project, which was funded by the DFG from 2003 -2005, was managed together with Uwe Schimank at the FernUniversität in Hagen. The participation of people in different spheres of life in audience roles, e.g. as consumer, student, newspaper reader, patient, etc., was conceptualized in terms of inclusion profiles, thus aiming to link differentiation and inequality theory. A standardized survey provided the basis for an empirical account of such inclusion profiles as well as of causal relationships in social and factual or temporal terms. A summary monograph on the project was published by VS in 2008.
