At the 43rd Congress of the German Sociological Association in Mainz, the department presented current research on social inequalities, helped organize ad hoc groups, and took advantage of a variety of opportunities for professional exchange and networking.

The 43rd Congress of the German Sociological Association in Mainz offered the Sociology Department—with its focus on social inequalities—a wide range of opportunities to present current research findings, initiate academic discussions, and network with colleagues.

The program focused on issues of wealth and property inequality, urban life and housing, wealth and inheritance, and digital market relations. Nicole Burzan not only gave a presentation but also organized, together with colleagues, an ad hoc group on property and wealth inequalities in the private sphere and provided input at an informational event on DFG funding. Philipp Kadelke presented findings from the Landlord Project. Benjamin Neumann, together with Marliese Weißmann, presented findings from the wealth project . Nico Steinmann helped organize an ad hoc group on digital market relations and presented findings from his doctoral project. The presentations and discussions offered numerous points of reference for dialogue on current social developments and sociological research.
