At the symposium on real estate law, Philipp Kadelke will be discussing the societal relevance of rental housing from a sociological perspective on inequality.

For more than 20 years, the German Tenants' Association (DMB) and the vhw – Federal Association for Housing and Urban Development have jointly organised the Weimar Real Estate Law Days. They provide an important forum for professional exchange between judges, lawyers, legal advisors from tenants' associations, property owners and landlords, lawyers from local authorities and administrations, and all other professional groups involved in real estate law (Deutscher Mieterbund) [text translated from the German homepage].

At the 22nd event (18–19 September 2025), Philipp Kadelke will speak about the social relevance of rental housing. Topics will include the inequality of living conditions in Germany, the significance and consequences of such disparities at an individual and structural level, and the fact that providing housing is more than just providing a roof over people's heads.
