Global South and North societies are affected differently by the energy transition. During a one-week research trip by Dr. Miriam Schad (invited by Prof. Dr. Adryane Gorayeb) to the Observatório da Energia Eólica at the Universidade Federal do Ceará in Fortaleza (Brazil), the focus was on the local expansion of wind energy, ecological and social impacts, and changes in local living conditions. Brazil's long-term plans to produce and export green hydrogen to Europe were also discussed. A total of ten researchers from the following universities attended the third meeting of the Observatório da Energia Eólica: Federal University of Ceará, Texas A&M University (USA), Le Mans University (France), Utrecht University (Netherlands), University of Dortmund (Germany), University of Rome Tor Vergata (Rome), University of Salta (Argentina) and other institutions connected with the research group members. In her presentation, Miriam Schad presented the first results of her research conducted in Spain as part of the Rudolf Chaudoire Prize 2022.
